Hey! I'm Jodie - owner of Jodie Flavell Art & it's sister brand Decoris Home.
I began painting in 2018 as a means off therapy. A year later I officially setup my business & began selling pieces, while also maintaining a full-time job. Then, a year after that I was laid-off due to covid & I KNEW I had to make this work... and I did.

Building a brand is very important to the longevity of your business. You need to know the WHY before you know the HOW. My "why" to begin with was simply to take preloved furniture & give them a new lease of life. I wanted people to have eco-friendly, artistic pieces of furniture in their home & I wanted to make a living from it.

Since then, my "why" has evolved. While I still feel very passionate about running a business that is eco-friendly, I also now want to support & encourage other people to grow in confidence & skills to find their own "why" & "how", towards professionally growing their own creative business.

I've always tried to be authentic in what I bring to the table & being honest in both my successes & failures (there's a lot to be learned in failure) & believe me I've had a few. Too many people are afraid to fail & I want help you stop being afraid!

So far in my artistic journey I have been a content creator for several brands, my main one being a Brand Ambassador for Dixie Belle Paint, which I have been for 3 years now.

As well as creating an income stream via furniture sales, I have also learned how to create income through social media, brand partnerships & painting tutorials.

Recently I have expanded my business into artistic aromatherapy products, as well as opening up my own small shop in Harrogate.

I'm versatile in my style, but my personal love is to create my signature olde' world style on furniture - making furniture look like it has a genuine patina! I also, love to create abstract styles on furniture, which traditionally would have been created on canvas.

Afterall, everything is our canvas!
